Over the past several years, central Kansas has been producing some of the biggest whitetails in the country. The terrain is ideal for growing big mature whitetails. The area is split between crop land, pasture, wood lots and creek bottoms. Along with great genetics, the agricultural crops in this part of the state provide the perfect feeding ground for these whitetails. These remote, unpopulated, secluded parts of the state don't have near the deer numbers of the eastern parts of the state, but the ratio of mature bucks, in relation to the smaller number of hunters, simply cannot be beaten. This outfitter, with 12,000 acres of private ground located near Great Bend, has been one of our best producers. Some of his private hunting ground is located close to a National Wildlife Refuge, which is closed to hunting, and acts as a sanctuary for these big deer. 200" bucks have been encountered and harvested in this area in the past. Only a handful of hunters are taken at any given time on this property.

Physical Requirement Level

1 - These hunts are mostly farm or ranch hunts from stands or blinds. Includes substantial use of 4x4 pickups and/or ATV's. Most whitetail deer hunts are in this category.
