Southeast Alaska's Admiralty Island has a great population of Sitka blacktail deer and our outfitter here is a year-round resident of the island. You will fly by float plane from Juneau, Alaska to a cove on the remote southern end of the island. The hunts are based from a very comfortable 5,000 square foot log home, with the hunting areas being reached via boat or ATV's. There is a LOT of deer in this area and success rates of 100% are common. Living here on a permanent basis for more than two decades is a tremendous advantage, as it has allowed the outfitter to gain vast personal knowledge of the deer and the areas of the island they inhabit. This is a fun, highly successful and inexpensive hunt, which is great for father & sons, or just a couple of hunting buddies. Includes two bucks.

$2,500 for a 6 night/5 day, 2x1 hunt.

Late October through November. Arrive the lodge on a Monday and depart on a Sunday.

Transportation

Fly into Juneau, Alaska and overnight. Take the floatplane charter to the lodge the next morning. Charter cost is approximately $1,200 round-trip, for 1 or 2 persons.

Physical Requirement Level

3 - These hunts are a true wilderness experience and are usually conducted on horseback while hunting species such as elk, moose, bear; also, some mountain lion and African cape buffalo. Difficult to extreme hiking and backpacking can be involved.
