Cabela's Outdoor Adventures has been looking for a Maine black bear outfitter for many years and we finally found one that meets all of our standards. Situated on a beautiful lake in northern Maine, our outfitter here has access to over 23,000 acres of wilderness reserve. This outfitter strives for quality and not quantity taking very few hunters per week. Black bears are found in abundance around the lake and throughout the reserve, where they are attracted by many excellent food sources. Guided hunts begin in late August and take place from stands and blinds, with both rifle and archery hunters accommodated. Success rates are in the 90% range with bears averaging about 4.5 feet and occasionally exceeding 7 feet. All hunters are placed over active baits and trail cameras are utilized to enhance success. Comfortable log cabins are equipped with gas lights and heat, with each cabin having its own private bath. Fine cuisine is served in historic dining room and features Maine lobster, prime meats and much more. This is a high quality black bear hunt that is reasonably priced and ideally located for our northeastern customers. NOTE: A wounded bear is considered a dead bear. If you choose to continue hunting, a $500 fee is due to the outfitter.

1 - These hunts are mostly farm or ranch hunts from stands or blinds. Includes substantial use of 4x4 pickups and/or ATV's. Most whitetail deer hunts are in this category.
