Cabela's Outdoor Adventures is excited to offer for the first time ever "Free-Ranging Alaskan Reindeer" Hunts. These reindeer with superior genetics were introduced to this remote island back in the 1930's, today this unmanaged healthy herd has grown to over 1,450 animals. This year for the first time the Native Corporation has allocated 25 permits for sportsmen to harvest these magnificent animals as part of their long term management program. The trophy potential on these hunts are unreal, we expect most bulls to gross score 380- 450+ inches with an overall average over 400" B&C. Hunters will have the opportunity to harvest a second bull on a trophy fee basis. Accommodations will be a tented camp on this remote island. These hunts typically take place during the months of July and August when the weather patterns are most stable. Experienced guides will accompany you on this 2x1 hunt to assist with field judging and trophy care of animal. Due to the remoteness of these hunts hunters need to be in good mental and physical shape and be able to hike 2 to 3 miles per day on the open tundra. This is a great opportunity to be one of the first hunters on this island, availability is limited to give us a call today we do not expect these to last long.
